rate disclosure:
The interest rate and Annual Percentage Yield (APY) information for your zip code location. Rates for other locations may be different. Rates shown are effective as of 05/20/2013. Each tier shown reflects the daily minimum collected balance required to obtain the applicable APY. APY based on monthly compounding of interest. The interest rate is variable and may change at any time after account opening. Fees may reduce earnings.
The fine print:

Premium Interest Rate: Receive the Premium Interest Rate on balances below $25,000 when you have 15 or more debit card purchases post each statement period and you maintain paperless statements. Pending transactions are not included in the minimum debit card purchases.

Monthly service charge: The monthly service charge will be waived when you have an average balance of at least $2,500 in your checking account, or a combined balance of at least $10,000 in eligible Umpqua Bank accounts linked to your checking account. Eligible account types are checking, savings, certificates of deposit (CDs), money market and individual retirement accounts (IRAs).

Determining your account's Average Balance: You may be able to waive the monthly service charge on your checking account with your account's average balance. Your account's average balance is the total of the daily ledger balances in your account within a statement period divided by the number of calendar days in that statement period.

Determining your Combined Balance: You may be able to waive the monthly service charge on your checking account with the combined balances in your linked eligible Umpqua Bank deposit accounts. Eligible deposit accounts include checking, savings, CDs, money market, and IRAs. Balances from linked accounts used to qualify for a monthly service charge waiver on one checking account can also be applied to qualify for a monthly service charge waiver on another checking account.

The combined balance is calculated by adding together the lowest daily ledger balance from your checking account and each of the accounts linked to your checking account. We may use balances from different days depending on when the lowest daily ledger balance occurs in each linked account. Balances are selected from the period starting on the first calendar day of the month to the last day of your checking account's statement period.

Fee refunds for using non-Umpqua Bank ATMs: Receive refunds of ATM fees assessed by other banks and by Umpqua Bank up to $15 each month when you have 15 or more debit card purchases post each statement period and you maintain paperless statements. Pending transactions are not included in the minimum debit card purchases.

Pending Transactions: These are transactions that have not yet posted, or that we have not received the final transaction amount from the merchant.

Mortgage benefit: Apply for an Umpqua Mortgage and receive a lender credit toward closing costs. Loan products subject to credit approval. Offer valid on residential purchase and refinance loans. Other terms, conditions, restrictions & fees may apply.
