Positive Pay

Positive Pay service is the most effective method available to protect against the financial loss associated with check fraud. With Positive Pay, your company can better monitor and detect unusual or unauthorized disbursement activity by comparing paid items against issue information to determine any discrepancies. Positive Pay won't allow items to be cashed on your account without first reconfirming your permission. How it works:

  • Automatically compares checks presented for payment against a list of checks you have authorized and reported to Umpqua
  • Allows you to import a formatted file with check issue and check void data
  • Authorized users can initiate manual check issues or check void requests
  • Provides an issue report showing all imported and manual check issue data along with any check void requests

If a check is not on your authorized list, Positive Pay provides an electronic image of the front and back of the check so you can quickly determine whether the item should be paid or returned.

Reverse Positive Pay

Instead of submitting your issued check files, as with Positive Pay, we'll provide you with a list of paid checks to compare with your own records. If you want any items returned, simply mark those items with a "return" decision.

ACH Positive Pay

Stop unauthorized ACH transactions from charging to your accounts with ACH Positive Pay.

Safeguard against fraudulent activity by filtering or blocking unauthorized electronic transactions. Any item that meets the criteria you establish will automatically post to your account. Your company will be notified via email and/or text message of any ACH items that do not meet your payment criteria. You can choose to return or pay the exception items and may conveniently add the payment criteria to allow future ACH transactions.

ACH Block

Protect your account from electronic fraud. Our ACH Block service automatically rejects all ACH debits that are directed to a particular bank account. After a one-time setup, this automatic service mitigates your risk of ACH debit fraud.
