Carl grew up in the Seattle area, and become a successful commercial banker through his interactions with many different people and industries, ranging from aerospace to healthcare to agriculture. Skills like how to implement an effective business plan and how to be a trusted advisor in areas such as working capital, start-ups, equipment finance, M&A, and commercial real estate. Carl joined Umpqua because the access and opportunities the firm provides clients; his team has over 50 years of commercial banking experience.
With over 18 years of experience ranging from retail branch manager to private mortgage banking, Carl made the switch to commercial banking in 2010 and hasn’t looked back. The Washington native specializes in a wide range of industries but has a soft spot for manufacturing, healthcare and professional service companies. His work has received numerous awards and being named a Platinum Banker in equipment finance and machine tool lending.
Carl feels it’s important to give back the community. Over the past 11 years, he’s worked as a hockey official for both youth and adult hockey leagues, mentoring lots of young players along the way. When he’s not playing or officiating hockey games, he enjoys hunting, fishing, cycling, traveling and spending time with his three children.
