Even the Online and Mobile Banking Basics Can Do a Lot

People have become so accustomed to online and mobile banking – our customers are turning to it more and more – that it’s easy to forget how much even the basics can simplify and streamline your daily life.

At the same time, we know that some of you haven’t used our digital tools before. Whatever the reason, we totally understand and want to make it as easy as possible for you to give them a try.

So we turned to Umpqua’s resident experts on our online and mobile banking tools. Here are their thoughts on how to use digital banking basics to fit your daily life, whether you’re a regular user or first-timer:

Left to your own devices: Computers, laptops, tablets, phones, even that “phablet” thing that was popular a few years ago: Our digital banking works across devices, so you can do whatever you need to do whenever you need to do it. Log into online banking from your computer at home in the morning to check your balance. Transfer money from your account to your partner’s linked account from your phone through our mobile banking app. Pause the TV show you’re binge watching on your tablet and pay the bill you forgot about.

Lights, camera, money: Mobile deposit is a safe, secure way to deposit checks and save time using our app and the camera on your phone or tablet. And right now, through May 15, 2018, we’re offering our Triple Pay, where every check deposited through Umpqua’s mobile app into an Umpqua personal deposit account, enters you in a chance to triple the check amount, up to $1,500.

Money on the move: You’re at the home improvement store with a cart full of materials for that big spring project. You check your balance on your phone through the mobile banking app to see that your mortgage payment just cleared and you’re low on funds. But your partner’s account is flush. If your accounts are linked, you can use Transfers to move some money from their account to yours – just be sure to add some candy from the check-out aisle to your cart as a thank you for “stealing” their money.

Post all bills: Good news: the universe is giving us more time in the day. Bad news: It’s happening really slowly. Rather than wait for the atomic clock to update, use Billpay to save the time of paying by hand. Depending on your cash flow, you can set up set bills, like a car payment or mortgage, to pay each month and manage variable bills, like your credit card. Even more good news: If you need help setting things up, Umpqua associates are here to help in person or over the phone.

You can sign up for online banking today on our digital banking page and download your mobile app through Apple or Android.
