Nick Butler is the Managing Director of the bank’s Native American financial services and gaming practice, as well as Middle Market Director for Reno, Nevada. He has been in commercial banking in Nevada for more than 20 years; the bulk of that time has been devoted to supporting casinos and Native American tribes.
Nick is deeply involved with the gaming industry and Native American financial services through organizations like the Indian Gaming Association, Nevada Society of CPAs Gaming Conference, California Native Indian Gaming Association, Native American Finance Officers Association and G2E.
Professionally, he is curious about organizational structures, strategies, performance and human interactions. Nick considers himself a lifelong learner and seeks to help his customers by sharing the latest best practices and connecting individuals and institutions.
Nick holds a bachelor's degree in economics and master’s degree in accounting from the University of Nevada, Reno. Additionally, he is an honor roll graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School.
As part of the bank’s commitment to the communities it serves, Nick teaches financial literacy in tribal communities. He volunteers with his church, Living Stones Church Reno. He also volunteers with the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada and local youth sports programs. He is a past president of the University of Nevada Alumni Association.
