Matt has extensive experience in the acquisition, development and investment of commercial real estate, operating mainly within the Puget Sound and San Francisco Bay areas since 2000. He began his career managing acquisitions and assets for a family-owned commercial real estate investment firm, advancing into a position with a national real estate lender to advise on income producing real estate investments and special credit properties. Prior to the inception of the Umpqua Bank Multifamily program, Matt worked as a life company correspondent and construction lender under Intervest Mortgage Investment Co.
Matt received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, and his MBA from Thunderbird --The American Graduate School of International Management. His background is a diverse one that includes many accomplishments from outside the office
Prior to working in commercial real estate he spent several years as a volunteer in Indonesia, worked as a Partnership manager at the Seattle Alliance for Education, and founded an outdoor program for children with disabilities.
